-EYES- - It is so easy to mess up when applying eyeliner and mascara.. A Q-TIP always works well to clean up the mess without having to start over! - Do your eyebrows. Please. - Its a good idea to go get your eyebrows professionally shaped every couple of months. The first time you should always have a pro do it because they know whats flattering for your face. Also when you pluck your own eyebrows you can stray from that shape after time- so id say every 2 months go get em done! Its only about 15 bucks. ps..everyone should do their brows- no matter how much you think you dont need it! Oh and when you do them- keep up with them! ((if you're like me and have a waxer.. a great way to get off the excess wax is with baby oil! It works wonders over that 'wax remover' crap they sell..)) - Day Time.... On a regular day I will put basically just eyeliner on. I'll put a light shimmery shadown over the whole lid also- so that the eyeliner doesnt smear too much (almay clicky kind (its a silver casing) doesnt smear as much as the majority.. its great) I dont wear anything that contrasts the skin- just a light natural color with some shimmer. Then I'll add some orangish/copper to bring out the highlights in my eyes. Its all pretty subtle and light lip gloss is all I put with it. - Night Time.... For a more dramatic look I like the smokey eyes. I start out with a black shadow (jane- 2 bucks) and a wet brush. Gives me that opaque look- I put that on the lower lid then go over that with a dark greyish to make the rest of the arch or whatever shape I'm goin for. I'll blend and work with the shape a bit- then add a black liner and some mascara and voila! I like liquid liner b/c it stays put a lot better than pencils. When you have dramatic eye makeup on - it looks rough when it smudges off...so yep =) - when it comes to removing that wonderful makeup.. for your eyes vaseline is my best friend! It takes off mascara without a problem and the rest of your eye makeup will wipe away easily too!
-SKIN- -I'm a huge biore' fan. Their nose strips are awesome and their blemish fighting cleanser gets my face squeaky clean! - When it comes to skin makeup, try to wear as little as possible.. Even if your skin is bad - just wear some powder- before you know it your skin will clear up! I absolutely hate suffocating my skin! So if i must I'll wear a little powder but nothing else! I adore Lancome's line of powder..I've tried MAC but I wasn't impressed- I was told it was just like Lancome's but it isnt. Nothing is (ahh) haha try it! ! - When it's hot- you sweat- and ur face..looks shiny... instead of caking on more powder- but Clean and Clear's oil absorbing face wipes. They are those little blue plastic looking sheets- they take off the shine without taking off your makeup! (they;re about 4-5 bucks at anystore in the facial wash section) Also I've seen some girls who literally look like their face is melting off when they sweat. If you know you are going to be sweating- just wear powder if anything- powder-- unlike liquid makeup- doesnt melt! But if u must wear liquid makeup try to find one that doesnt use an oil free one that has silicone as an ingredient-- its water/sweat resistant.
-HAIR- -Its a good idea to have your hair cut at a salon every 2 months or so... They have professional scissors that dont fray your ends.. and beleive me everyone needs a trim after 2 months just to get the dead ends off - box dyes are awful for your hair- everyones done it.. but dont! Most do-it-yourself dyes suchas 'feria' have henna in them- which is pretty much pure pigment- they ruin your hair and your hair cuticle.. so if you get your hair colored- have someone pro do it for you!
-FITNESS- - If you can't afford a gym- you can still get in shape! Walking works wonders! Just walking around your neighborhood at a good pace can help you lose weight fast. - I love pilates. They were introduced to me by Sandra. I got two DVDs by Denise Austin and did them religiously- that stuff works. Finally- (you know me) I got tired of the routine. I had her words memorized so I took a break from the actual videos- BUT I still do my favorites out of her routines in my every day work out. They're great. - I recently bought myself an elliptical machine. The gym is too far away from me and I was always getting upset when I'd get rained out- or it'd be too late to get outside for my intervals. This thing is my new love. I put it right in the middle of my room so that I'd get on it ever chance I could and I do. They are pretty expensive. Most run 1-2000 dollars. I found one for $700 and after the guy at the place knocked my price down for me (all lovin those boys) It was about $500 with installation. Great investment- although I understand its not affordable to everyone. All gyms have them- and like I said earlier- if you cant get to a gym get out and walk. - Weights...I took the advice of many and started using weights with all of my exercises. Abs, arms - you name it. Talk about a huge difference. Free weights are pretty cheap at sports stores- and they help you tone up way quicker. Use them for resistance in just about all of your exercises and you wont regret it. - The Ball! Is the best! I love mine! You know those huge fitness balls that you can use to do crunches on.. *sit on the edge with your toes against the wall and lean back and do ur crunches* it eliminates back pain! And it makes you able to do more ab workouts since its easier.. But beware- every single guy that comes over will think its an oversized basketball. =/ - A great tip I recently heard was this: After working out- don't eat for at least 40 minutes. It is said that this is a mistake majority of people make. They say your body goes from calorie burning mode- into digesting mode and you lose some of the benefits from that work out. Makes sense to me. - WATER is the best thing to drink- it cleans out your system and helps flush out calories! Bring a water bottle everywhere you go! *Fact* the majority of the time you are 'hungry' and reach for food- thats not hunger you're feeling- its thirst!! So get plenty of hydration- it gives your body energy! - Slim Fast is nutritious! And it tastes good- once u get used to it. I learned in my college nutrition course that Slim Fast is healthy to replace one meal a day.. it gives you many of the vitamins you aren't getting.. but be careful- drinking more than one for a meal can make you gain weight. Since I'm not a breakfast person- and its been proven breakfast is essential- I started drinking a slimfast a day when I wake up.. =) - My biggest thing when it comes to weight loss is this. Don't do some stupid diet. I know a lot of them work etc. but really- when you get off of ANY of them you gain the weight right back. If you are over eating in the fast food area or too much junk food- cut down. Eat a bit healthier. That's more of a 'diet' plan. Make it something you can stick to permanently. Nothing that you have to say 'only 2 more weeks left of hell til my goal weight'... blah. Theres a sign of a diet that you wont benefit long term from. If you like simply cutting down portions will help a lot. Eat smaller, balanced meals more frequently. This way your tummy doesnt stretch out from a HUGE meal 3 times a day. - Majority of Americans live on Soda and a lot of fast food. Who blames ya? Fast food in convenient on those 30-60 minute lunch breaks.. theres barely time for much else... but if you cut out the fast food and soda or simply cut DOWN- theres instant weight loss with like no effort. Seriously =)
