Jacob says:
Everything in my life seemed to lead me to O-Town. I was always drawn to music and I always strove to be the best at whatever I became involved in. For example, I started wrestling in preschool. By the time I was in Fourth grade I was the state champion in California and Arizona. But in the process I tore all my ligaments, so I couldn't play sports anymore. So right after that, in fifth grade I got into theater and music. I didn't really take it seriously, though, until sophomore year of high school, when I switched schools to go to one with better ensembles. The only classes I paid attention to in high school were the music theory classes. It was tough for me to concentrate on anything else because I looked at other subjects as a waste of time. I've always been focused like that. For the last three years I was in a hard rock band trying to make it in San Diego. I don't have any regrets about leaving that scene behind, because I'm sure it will be back for me. Somehow, I'll get into it agian. Igor Stravinsky, the great composer, once said that to become great yourself, you have to first follow the people who came before you. So I looked to people like Michael Jackson. I want to do what Michael did to James Brown - taking what the greats did before you and bringing it to the next level.
