Since O-Town has "broken up" it has been said that Ashley is going to pursue a solo musical career. He's currently working on his first solo album and plans to tour eventually. Erik is pursuing/ thinking about both acting and a solo music career. It sounds like he has a variety of choices and alreay has had some opportunites presented to him. Dan is writing and stuff as he currently resides in Orlando. Trevor is living in southern California while he does something professional related to theatre, we are told. Jacob, as far as we know, is not doing anything music related publically right now, except for possibly still being involved in Warehouse Studios(? not sure?).

Yes, it's true. If you haven't heard yet it's true O-Town has decided to go on a little break after this August. They haven't reported how long it will be but they feel they need some time for other things in their lives right now. Check out the transcrip with Erik-Michael for his word on the break.

Happy 4th of July!! Happy Independence Day Everybody!!! When I woke up this morning (actually it was 2pm when I woke up .. not the point I'm trying to make) I wasn't really excited about the holiday or the festivities or anything. More or less I didn't care that it was July 4th. It didn't really hit me that we are celebrating a lot more than just a day on the calendar today, until I found myself watching the NBC 4th of july special on tv. Believe it or not I may have learned something from it .. may have been reminded of all the awesome things about living in the United States of America!! But then I realised that I have a lot to celebrate .. because I am living in a country where I have an abundance of opportunities lying at my feet, I have freedom, the right to work, shop, play, take a walk in the park or fly the American flag in my parents' front yard. Before I woke up today I already knew that I live in an awesome country but today on America's Independence Day I was reminded and took a minute to be grateful for what I have and where I live. HAPPY 4th OF JULY, my fellow Americans! Remember, opportunity begins with you .. you CAN make a difference!

Happy Birthday Shelli

Even though Shelli and Ashley are no longer dating and Shelli hasn't been in the spotlight for quite some time I'd like to take a moment to shout out a GREAT BIG "Happy Birthday" wish to Miss Shelli Lynne. We at O-Town Live, hope that it's a great day with lots of celebration for you.

Re-release of '02 (O-Town's Sophmore Album)

As many of you may know O-Town is going to be re-releasing their sophmore album, '02, on July 12th. Go out and pick up another copy of the album and please let everyone know about this date.

Wedding Bells

I hear wedding bells in the future (no it's not Ashley and Shelli) but it is an O-Town member. Well it's been rumored and now it has been proven true that Dan and his girlfriend Erin are indeed engaged! One of the founders from True Inspiration (formerly called ISJAJ) asked Dan's Mom and Aunt Gale if it Dan & Erin were really engaged and they confirmed it. Congratulations!

Happy Birthday Janie

I'd like to wish a very happy birthday to Mrs. Janie Underwood as she turns 22 today. I hope that all of Janie's wishes come true and mosty for a joyful & blessed day for her.

On a different note ...

I was visiting a bunch of O-Town fan sites today and what I found was a bit alarming to me. What I found was that most of the pages I visited have decided to SHUT DOWN or are just not updating anymore. This is serious. It seems like the O-Town world is diminishing. Just to let you know I will keep my site up and running the best I can until O-Town announces that they are calling it quits. I don't believe that they are done yet. Hang in there fellow O-Town fans!

"I Showed Her" Video Cancelled ... Looking for 3rd single

I Showed Her is already not doing well on radio. It hasn't gotten many spins. O-Town is already looking for a third single. O-Town insiders say that we probably won't ever seen a video for ISH since MTV has made a new policy not to play videos for songs that aren't already hits.

J Record Rumor
O-Town is not being dropped from J Records at this time. Their contract with o-town was for 2 albums and a possible thrid. They have a set amount of time to decide whether they will pursue a third album with O-Town.

In Other News ...
A number of radio stations have apparently expressed interest in "Favorite Girl" and the word says itis being tested and monitored by some radio execs. Could this be a third single? We don't know yet.

O2 Review

The boys of Orlando are back with a whole new sound! That's right, your favorite fivesome has shed the sounds of their Making the Band past for a totally new sound that you are going to love. Gone are the sugary sweet boy band songs of yesterday. Those songs have been traded in for more honest tunes that better represent this remarkable band's talents. Don't worry though, you'll still find love songs and ballads, but you'll also find a whole new crop of uptempo tunes that you might not have expected from a "boy band". We love "These Are The Days" for its serious and honest tone, but we can't resist the fun- loving "The Joint" that gets us on our feet! O2 is the result of eight months of hard work and you can tell because O-Town has refined their talents in many ways. Each song reflects their more mature and developed outlook. You saw them when they were first created and you loved their first CD. You've watched them deal with fame and attempt to gain back their individuality. It's now time to grow with O-Town and check out their latest and greatest album.

Ignite Magazine

We all fell in love with the five guys of O-Town when they first appeared on the reality star-making series, Making The Band. We watched them grow and adjust to their newly found stardom and yet still manage to stay grounded and motivated. What we loved best about these guys is that they seemed so normal and well adjusted; all the while managing to put out their debut CD, O-Town, and create hysteria wherever they traveled. Even though these five guys have been incredibly successful, they have still managed to stay true to themselves and their goals. After their first CD and four seasons of Making The Band, Erik, Ashley, Jacob, Dan and Trevor, realized they needed to take control of their careers. They were tired of being backed into a corner and told what to do. They wanted to strike out on their own and create the kind of music that they liked. After some serious hard work, soul-searching and good old male bonding, O-Town has come out with their sophomore CD, O2. As the band tells it, the songs on the new album are more expressive of what they like musically and the old boy band sound has been done away with. This is an older, more mature sound that 0-Town has worked hard to create. We wanted to know all about O-Town's transformation and the scoop on the new CD. We had the amazing opportunity to have all our questions answered by one of our very favorite members (not to mention one of the cutest!), Erik-Michael Estrada. It was hard to stay focused talking to such a talented and gorgeous star, but Erik was so open and easy to talk to, that now we love him even more!

Word from the street

Andrea from the O-town Street Team is suggesting to us that we do not bombard dj or radio stations with e-mails because this makes them really mad and it looks bad for o-town and fans and they will stop playing O-Town's music permaently if we do this. Instead she said to call your local radio stations to request I Showed Her.

CLEARING UP THE "O2" & J RECORDS RUMOR

Many of us have heard things about possibilities of O-Town being dropped by record company, J Records (Owned by Clive Davis). There were a lot of speculations about this in some on-line articles that were writen after the O2 album was released. The rumors however are not entirely true. Here is what Andrea From the O-Town Street Team said about it: (Note: Andrea in my mind, is a much more credible source than critics or journalists) (thanks to kara at AFJacob for reporting this)

ANDREA: 100% FALSE. J RECORDS HAS NOTHING BUT SUPPORT & LOVE FOR O-TOWN & "O2". DON'T BELIEVE TRASH LIKE THAT!

ABOUT THE ALBUM

For those of you who may have heard about the status of O-Town's new album on the billboard charts or for those of you that care I have heard mixed things about their new album. First of all I know that "O2" debute on the chart at # 27 and sold 53,372 in its first week in stores. That wasn't as high as their debut album which came in in the top 10 but with the fact that this time around that didn't have the hype of Making The Band, it wasn't as shocking. Also, J record spokesperson stated that the company was happy with the current status of the sophmore album and felt it was doing well. Some people say that Clive Davis of J Records is about ready to drop O-Town from J Records but at this time it is still considered speculation. NOTHING HAS BEEN CONFIRMED! These are just bits and pieces that people have been hearing through interviews, newspress releases, ETC.

O-Town is scheduled to perform "These Are The Days" on Good Morning America, this Friday, November 29th. GMA airs on ABC from 7:00 am - 9:00 EST.

ALBUM NEWS

O-Town's second album, O2, debuted on the Billboard charts at #27 and sold 53,372 copies in its first week in stores.

"O2" IS NOW RELEASED

O-Town's second album, O2, was released in stores on November 12th. I bought it and I persnally have to tell you that it's an excellent CD. I think you'll appreciate the new sound the boys are working with in this album. There are some excellent songs on the album so I suggest that you all go out and buy yourselves a copy. You'll be impressed with what they've achieved on this record. (It really is that good!) A little about the album ... Ashley co-wrote a few songs, including, "From The Damage", "Craving", "A Girl Like That" and "Suddenly". Erik-Micheal co-wrote "The Joint" and "Make Her Say". There are some other songs on there by some good writers as well, including one by Diane Warren.(Think "Baby I Would"- She wrote it and a new song sung by O-Town called, "You Can't Loose Me".) Hooray for O-Town and Congratulations on the second album. Keep supporting them! Head over to mtv.com and vote for their video so they can get to number one on the countdown!

JACOB QUOTE OF THE WEEK: "The main thing is, I'm the last person who would ever use my personal life for publicity reasons and try to sell records, so it's weird that it's happening now because my record was supposed to come out six months before my wedding. .... The wedding's been planned for a while, but I've been ready to marry this girl since I was in high school, and it's going to be one of the best days in my life."

Ashley gets 3 songs on Album, Erik gets 2 songs!

So Far Ashley Parker Angel, of O-Town has written or co-written three songs that are going to appear on the O2 Album. We've probably all heard "From The Damage" by now, which was co-written by Ashley with Steve Kipner. Ashley also co-wrote a song called "Suddenly" with Rich Cronin and I believe that some of the other O-Boys may have had a hand in helping with this one. Thirdly it has been said that Ashley co-wrote a song called, "Craving", also to appear on the O2 Album. Meanwhile Erik Michael wrote "Make Her Say" and "The Joint" which he's contributing to the album. Their first single "These Are The Days" was written by some famous song writers. Dan Miller wrote a song called "Angel" which we are not sure if it will be on the album or not.

JACOB ON THE SUBJECT OF HIS UP-COMING WEDDING!

(This interview was originally published in German and translated into English for us.)

Jacob: "My marriage is the most important thing in my life so the new album must wait. I'm so excited because I want to get married to Janie. I wanted to marry her already when I was young!"
Q: And Where? "In San Diego."
Q: But why does all the marriage things go on so fast? [It's] already in October and there are some rumors... "No, Janie isn't pregnant but we've adopted a monkey. I think every person who wants to have a baby should be forced to adopt a monkey first. The monkey will show you if you are responcible enough to get a baby."
It has been said that Jacob and Janie's wedding will take place on October 26th in their home town, San Diego.

AUGUST 24, 2002

Okay, apparently O-Town does have to change the name of their 2nd album but only for the European version. (In the US and everywhere except Europe it will still be called O2.) It had to do with some conflict with a Telecommunication company who changed it's name in O2. So now O-Town is letting the fans CHOOSE the title for the europe album by voting on your favorite from a list of choices. The choices for title are
  • 1.) O-Town 2
  • 2.) Sorry We're Late
  • 3.) Been Around The World
  • 4.) These Are The Days

IF you have REAL PLAYER you can LISTEN HERE to O-Town give the choices.

JUNE 21, 2002

Last night I found out that O-Town's album "O2" has been pushed back again and is now scheduled to be released on October 1, 2002. They said that a single should hit radio in August. This information originally came from a J-Records executive. (Which means unfortunatley that it is true.) They said that they have recieved some more songs to record and want to make the album even better so hopefully it will turn out as O-Town's dream album or whatever.

JUNE 14th, 2002

This is Jenny, here. I just wanted to say that I was able to catch O-Town's concert in Rockford on Wednesday and it was so much fun and the best I have seen them yet. We had good seats and it was an AWESOME show. Anyone who is able to catch them on this tour is a very lucky. Trevor also said that their album will be coming out on August 27th and that he hopes we all go out and get it.

O-Town To Launch Clothing Line this Fall

(From Katrillion)
They can sing, But can they sew? According to Women's Wear Daily, O-Town members Ashley Parker Angel, Trevor Penick and Erik Michael Estrada will launch their own clothing line, called Atira, this fall. Described as an eclectic mix of urban, surf, skate, and 70's styles for both guys and gals, the line includes baby tees, baseball shirts, shorts and leather jackets.
"I've always wanted to do this." Noted Estrada. "I even had my own line of T-Shirts that I used to sell in high school."

WHAT'S UP WITH JACOB AND JANIE
In a recent Popstar interview Jacob said that he and Janie are still together. When asked if they were "on a break" from each other Jacob said. "That's not true. Oh, God ... it starts! (Laughs) No, it's not true." **He also said that when he and Janie and the O-BOys were over-sees his brother (Bryan) came over for a while too.

Credit to The All For Jacob Group for this information as it was posted by cslewis4.

Their will soon be a book coming out about the Band O-Town called The Sixth O. It is by Krista Richards (Janie & Jacob's friend aka Jacob's back nurse). She went on tour with the boys and had a great time and wrote a book about her experiences. I got a chance to read the original copy and it is a great book. A must read for any fan. She is a really good friend of Jake, Janie, and I. Also pray for her she had a accident while at work and her ear drum is now bleeding and she may end up deaf in one ear.
