These numbers don't tell the whole story. If, there are actually 1,152 homes in the subject area and using the .5 school aged children in each house (this number is what is currently used by school districts to plan for enrollment) there should be a total of 576 children between the grades K - 12.

    In the meantime Oakley continues to grow. A new subdivsion, at the end of Truman behind Crockett Park, has started construction (176 houses). Another has started on the western side of Live Oak (59 houses). Another on Live Oak consisting of 11 houses has been approved. These new projects will bring an additional 122 students.

    A total of 699, large enough to support a grade school.
