THE BIO OF KATE! |
Hello, my friends! My name's Kate. I bet you all want to know my life story, so here it is! I was born in Washington D.C., and lived there until I was six. I then moved to Bozeman, Montana, and have lived there ever since. I turned 17 on November 20th, and I'm a senior in high school. I have red hair and too many freckles to count, unless you were really really bored. (I lost count at 368 on an airplane ride once, but got distracted by some superb pretzel snacks, and that was the end of that). I have two dogs, Abbie and Dusty. Abbie is a big ol' golden retriever with an unfortunate shortage of brain cells. A favorite hobby is to watch her run full speed into walls. Dusty is a short, fat sheltie. But we love him anyway. My mom is the fundraiser for the Museum of the Rockies, and my Dad is the Director of International Education for Montana State University. My passions lie in the arts. I'm going to major in creative writing next year at college. I also love drawing, photography, and calligraphy. I have been doing roughly three plays a year since 3rd grade, including "West Side Story", "Twelfth Night", and "Rhinoceros" (in which I was an old woman whose cat got run over by a rhinoceros, and I got to have a hissy fit! This one was quite possibly my favorite role ever). Over Xmas Break I got to play a vengeful ex-girlfriend who threw water all over everyone onstage. I fell though. That's Karma for ya. This past summer I finished my 8th year of theater camp, and I can't wait for the 9th next summer. As anyone who knows me well can tell you, writing is truly my passion. I love the works of Dickinson and Sexton especially, but I also enjoy Pound, Eliot, and Frost. As far as prose is concerned I really like Toni Morrisson and (cringe... I can't believe I'm about to admit this...) William Faulkner. One of my favorite books is On Writing by Stephen King-- it has all of his famous wit and sarcasm, minus the creepy monsters and children of Hell thing. I love love love LOVE to ski and you can find me hitting the slopes at least once every weekend during the winter (you'll either see me a. getting a ski patrol speeding warning or b. sprawled out after a failed jump attempt). I like tennis too, but considering I suck at it I probably won't be on a team or anything. It's just fun to play. I'm a gym rat as well :) I just decided that next year I will be attending Linfield College in McMinnville Oregon! I am v. excited-- it's gorgeous! Here's the website if you want to check it out: www.linfield.edu/ As for music, I like a lot of stuff--everything from the Black Eyed Peas to Cake to Steve Miller Band. I've also seen Flogging Molly twice in concert (a.k.a. I've been to heaven twice!) I like playing classical music on my cello, and listening to it is cool sometimes. I've almost got enough money saved up for an electric cello (HOW COOL WOULD THAT BE?!?!). I'm big on food too. Haha. I love sushi- me and my mom can make it like two people on sushi pills making sushi. My first word was chocolate (and I'm dead serious). Hence, I have a terrible sweet tooth. And a serious fetish for cereal. I love me lucky charms. And honey nut cheerios. Yummmmmmm. And of course, in the tradition of teenage girls, I LOVE to just hang out and goof off with my friends. Here are some pictures of my friends! And that's me. Here's some pictures of me and my doggies and house and stuff. Thanks for reading this and have a lovely day! |

This is my house! Those two windows at the little outcroppy thing is my room. My mom spends a lot of time in the garden, it's like a third pet. |
