Part 2

Hiei-chan slowly opened his eyes, blinking sleepily at his unfamiliar
surroundings. It didn't look at all like the room he had at Yuu-chan's
castle. Then he became aware of an unfamiliar warmth surrounding him.
Turning his head, he looked down at the redhead who was sleeping with
his arms still wrapped about Hiei. He smiled happily and snuggled
closer to Kurama. He'd really missed his best friend.

"Ne, Kurama-chan, wake up! WAKE UP!!!"
The insistent, and gratingly cheerful, not to mention LOUD, childish voice jolted Kurama from his sleep. Rubbing his eyes, he groggily turned to look at his new roommate. Hiei-chan was standing beside his bed, bouncing up and down in impatience.
"What is it, Hiei?" he asked, yawning widely.
Hiei-chan stared up at him, innocence shining in his wide red eyes. "I'm hungry, Kurama-chan!"
Kurama dragged himself out of bed, heading for the kitchen and a fortifying cup of coffee. "I'm sure you are," he mumbled, pushing his hair out of his face.
Hiei-chan skipped after him, reaching up to take his hand. "Ne, ne, what are we going to eat, huh? What, what?"
Kurama sighed. It was going to be a loooong day.

Kurama shot a glance at his companion. Hiei-chan looked adorable in
Kurama's old school clothes. Good thing 'Kaasan still kept them
around. He sighed. Getting them on Hiei-chan had been a true test of
patience. A huge sweatdrop appeared on his head as he remembered the
rather large pile of ash where his other clothes used to be. Hiei-chan
was apparently a very picky dresser. It was fortunate that both
'Tousan and 'Kaasan were heavy sleepers. He REALLY didn't want to have
to explain what he was doing to either of them.
Glancing back at Hiei, Kurama gave an involuntary smile.
Kurama sighed louder. He knew he was losing it when his mind began
talking back at him.
Hiei-chan suddenly turned and grinned up at him, happiness shining
bright and clear in his eyes. Kurama's heart contracted. He'd waited
so long to see that particular expression on his friend's face. If
only...no, better not to think about that. It was time he got over
that infatuation. Wouldn't want people to accuse him of being a child
molester in addition to being a pervert. Pushing Hiei-chan along, he
hurried off to school.
