MISSION STATEMENT

WELCOME

OCAS was formed with the belief that there is an exciting opportunity in Orange County for a fishing club to bring families and fishing together. Orange County has many beautiful lakes within miles from home filled with fish for our enjoyment. Without traveling far, you can camp, fish for Bass, Bluegill,Catfish and Trout, hike and spend a day outdoors with your family, doing a clean, fun sport that everyone can enjoy. Fishing is becoming more and more popular and we’d like to help it become even more exciting locally! Most lakes in the area are relatively inexpensive or even free for kids. Being outside, relaxing and enjoying the fresh air with year round fishing makes this even more attractive. With our children’s lives being as busy as ours now, it’s nice to have something to do together as a family.

We plan on having local small tournaments for kids and adults to participate and reap the rewards without having the expensive entry fees or experience of a larger scale tournament. This will allow an amateur angler to experience a local tournament feel like a "PRO". Prizes will be potentially donated from local sponsors and merchants, as we want to keep it fun and simple and get everyone involved. The idea is to allow amateur fisherman, women, kids and families to compete on a friendly level, making new friends and having fun. We hope to have family and club functions sharing fishing stories while making new friends with BBQ’s and picnics.

Donations and percentages of OCAS Tournaments will go to C.A.S.T. for Kids. Again, emphasis is on kids and families.

Our web site will keep you up to date on most of the new effective fishing techniques, general information including latest fishing tackle, speakers, merchant specials and lake reports and data. It will allow members to exchange tips and share experiences they may have had at the lake, future events and keep in touch until we all meet at our next gathering.

In the future, hopefully maybe OCAS members can go as a team to larger tournaments outside of the area.
