War, it's effecting us all in some way. Friends of mine keep getting shipped out overseas. One of the men is a close friend of mine who I've known since High School, and the guys in his shop. I had the privilage of going to their Marine Ball and hanging out with them November '02, '03 & '04. Another is a good friend from college who lives nearby. Then there's my girl Ruth and her husband. I am honored to have had the chance to become acquainted with these men who do whatever they can to serve their country on a daily basis and abroad when called to action. To my boys from New River Marine Base(NC) HMM 365, Mark(NYANG), Ruth(Germany) and Russ(Camp LeJeune/Iraq), and all others who follow suit(my West Point boys) in the future, may God bless you and bring you back home to us safely.

Update: Dave finished his run as a Marine, but his guys are back overseas..for the 3rd time. He's back at home here in NY with his family for now.   Toby and Caleb graduated West Point. Toby is in Alaska and loving the snow. We still keep in touch every now and then.

If you would like to send your thanks or encouragement to these guys, I mail letters to Dave when he's overseas or not, and keeping in touch with the cadets at WP. If you want to send a note/letter to any of them, you can email me greenolive@hotmail.com . Due to the military's heightened security, the Department of Defense has had to stop programs such as "Any Soldier/Service Member" and some mail. They ask that, unless you are a relative or close personal friend, that you do not send mail to the soldiers. There are programs that you can donate to that will use the money to put together a care package to send, such as:
