this page is for my 86chevy caprice that i retired to the crusher

this was my 1986 caprice.   I got it for free.   the guy that owned it before me had put a napa remanufactured  350 and a new radiator in it.   the car had a few  other problems and he just didn't want bother with it any more  things like a broken swaybar,  leaking heater core, the back window leaked  and had loose flexplate bolts that  made it sound like it was knocking at idle

originally i was just supposed fix the minor problems and drive the car the way it was, but i couldn't help myself  and ended up adding a pair of headers, glasspacks and two inch pipes.  and it all went down hill from there.  stripped the front bumper,  wheel wells, etc.   i took off enough wieght to lift the front 3 inches.   i added a compcams xe274  and then a set of vortec heads (heads were after picture below was taken) the car ran low 14s with a 700r4 and a one legger 7 1/2 inch rear w/ 2.73 gears and it ran on the 87  "cheap" gas
