It is a very different sound. Don't expect alternative but expect crazy grooves that remind you of the 80's and of music of the future.. Get this album now!

So what is it about Beck? On December 4, 1999, Beck was the musical guest on Saturday Night Live & wore a gray jacket (over a pink tee shirt) and worn in blue jeans. Okay. Cool. He then performed the next day at the VH1 Vogue Fashion Awards, also in NYC. I was expecting he'd be wearing a cool, new outfit, but I was shocked to see that his hair was still uncombed & lo and behold, he was wearing the EXACT same outfit! Actually, he looked as if he just woke up! I don't know if that was a fashion statement, pure laziness, or if he forgot a change of clothes.. I guess his style is just one of the things I like about him.. Ah well...

Yep. I met Beck. I promised you the details. Here they are- You see, Beck was going to be holding an art presentation at theThread Waxing Space Sept. 15th in honor of his late grandfather's art work and well, I didn't go to that cause it was really exclusive but I went to the New York Rizzoli Bookstore on Sept. 16th where he was signing copies of the book ... First, I had went in and bought the book and stood on line (surprisingly, the line wasn't too long) I was standing there and I heard Beck's voice and I was saying, Oh man, that's his voice! Then, the guy that was talking to him moved away and I saw Beck sitting there and I just wanted to shriek Oh my god, there he is!!! but I reamined calm. So, I waited on the line and as the people in front of me were finishing up I froze. Totally froze. My heart was beating at about 5000 miles per hour and my mouth went completely dry! Then I went up to him and i didnt know what to say. Here I was, always dreaming of seeing Beck, my really cute idol and I didnt know what to say. Well, the first thing I said was hey; since he said hey! to me and then I blurted out, I have all your albums! Real witty, huh? Then, i just stood there while he signed my book...I asked him when he was gonna be in concert and he told me abt. his new album Mutations,etc. and I told him he was great at the concert. I was so nervous! So, then I asked if I could take a picture with him. He said yes so I went around the table, put my arm around him and smiled :) I could've fainted right there. So, after that I said bye, he said bye and I walked away, kicking myself in the ass. Why, you ask? Cause I forgot to tell him to write my name. So I got back on line and that time was so much better, I went up to him and said hi again and handed him the book. You see, in the inside front cover there's an addition problem, well, he put

weird, huh? Then I said I had seen him on tv at the MTV Awards with those cool glasses. He said, Yeah, that was.. that was tough stuff.. So then he turned to the back inside cover and wrote Tuff Stuff and signed his name. So i got his autograph twice and got to speak w/him twice. He also told me to choose my fate by choosing a tarot card. I took one and he said, The ace of wands..terrrific and I said, What's that supposed to mean and he said, 'I dont know..i know that triangles are good though. So that was it. He was just as odd as he is on t.v. I got a lot of pictures and it was the best moment of my life so far at least ;) I'll never forget it.The pic of me and him was also in the Aug. issue of 17 magazine!)

He's cool. He's hip. His name is Bek Hansen. He was born on July 8, 1971 in Los Angeles. He grew up in L.A., Kansas ( this is where his dad's father, who is a minister lived), and N.Y. He pretty much dropped out of school after junior high.

His mom- Bibbe Hansen and she recently owns a coffee house in L.A. called the Troy Cafe.
His dad- is a country & bluegrass musician. Great in music.
His step-dad: Sean Carillo. He is an artist and is Mexican.
His grandfather- the late Al Hansen who happens to be one of the major artists of the Fluxus art movement.
His Siblings- his half-brother Channing

February 15th, Radio City Music Hall

I'll write all about this concert as soon as possible. Let's just say it was awesome!

January 10th, 1999- BECK concert @ Town Hall, NYC, NY

This was an excellent concert. Here is my review! Well, the opening band, Luna (Luna?), was pretty good. There were two guys just continuously playing good guitar songs but after about half an hour of playing, they  were done. The concert was awesome. It was a smaller venue making it a worthwhile concert!

Jones Beach Concert, June 11, 1998

I recently saw him in concert on June 11, 1998 at Jones Beach Theater in Long Island, New York. He told us that the June 11 concert was his last for 1998. After that, he was going to be playing at the Tibetan Freedom Concert. So, until Mutations comes out, Beck probably won't be having any concerts (which is a pretty logical assumption)
