A National Service doctor served a 3-month border duty with a COIN Police Unit in 1983. Some `politically correct singing for his supper' but a surprisingly objective with much interesting detail.

Kevin Toolis went to Namibia in the mid-Eighties, an idealistic rookie journalist eager to join the struggle against the evil of apartheid. He was deported in short order. This spring - ten years on - he returned, expecting to find a country transformed. Sure enough, the South African security forces have gone, but in other ways he found it all strangely familiar.
