| Keladry of Mindelan has just returned from 6 years in the Yamani Ils. w/ her parents, the Tortallan Ambassadors. She wants to become a knight, considering there is a law now allowing women to become knights. However, Kel is forced to undergo a rather unfair probationary year. She soon discovers that people are out to make her journey to knighthood as difficult as possible. She makes friends w/ some of the other pages including the sarcastic, stubborn, & mildly annoying Neal and Cleon, an older page who makes Kel run errands for him but is overall a nice guy. However she also makes enemies w/ the nasty Joren & his gang who insist on making Kel's life hell (sorry for the annoying rhyme AGAIN). Lord Wyldon, her training master, is a male chauvenist pig who is convinced that Kel isn't as good as the boys. Will Kel survive the probationary year? |
