| I've spent the last fifteen years narrowing down my list of favorite songs and favorite bands; this site is an extension of the process that began in 1985. Every couple of months I'll revisit the scenes of former ecstasies, epiphanies and orgasms, and I'll pull down all the scenery, dismantle the lighting and behold the object of my appreciation afresh. These four bands--Sweet, Small Faces, the Vandalias and the Buzzcocks--are the only survivors from a list that once numbered in the dozens. Goodbye, Jam; goodbye Big Star.
