Rosie's Page
Come home, Dear Rosie, Come Home!
One and a half years ago I saw the pictures of four of the most beautiful sable and white cocker spaniels I could imagine.  My excitement was further piqued when  I also found out that these cuties were directly related to BeGay's It Is Miss Elizabeth, one of the three ICON dogs I had picked when I started in Cocker Spaniels!  I could not purchase her outright as the breeder wanted puppies back from her in the future so as the story goes myself and another US citizen bought her from Kim Kauffman, a Canadian breeder of Cocker Spaniels, also an amateur handler of dogs, amateur to be defined as not holding a professional handlers license with the PHA ( Professional Handlers' Association).

I was new and excited to find that my dear "Rosie" as I had named her, would be shown to her championship by the breeder/handler and then sent back to me to fulfill the remainder of her contract, i.e. puppies back.

Rosie tore into the shows as I knew she would after her show class training and the fact that she possessed an undeterred happy outlook on life and everything in it.  She quickly finished her Championship but somewhere in the mixup I was not informed ( heard it through the Grapevine, I did!)  I quickly verified this with CKC (Canadian Kennel Club) and yes it was true!

Ok now half of the contract has been fulfilled.  She needs to come home to me now.  I have not been able to reach the breeder and some "flies buzzing in my ear" have told me this breeder has no intention of sending her back but I know better, Kim!
I know that she would never stoop to anything as despicable as not fulfilling a contract!  There has to be some domestic problem or something medically wrong with her for her  to forget about putting Rosie on that plane!

I am here, in WA state, where I sent her off to Kim Kauffman of Sebastian's Kennels in Winnepeg last year, waiting for the call from the air cargo in Seattle Airport. I know they will tell me Rosie is HERE, HOME where she BELONGS!

We miss you Rosie and burn a candle for your safe return each night.

Love, Your Family  God Bless You Rosie!
This is the best I think Rosie ever looked, taking Winner's Bitch 2 days after arriving in Canada!  What a trooper! Off the plane and into the winnings!
Here she is later on taking Best of Winners....I got this pic right before Rosie "dropped out of sight" to me , at least...
This is when I started to worry about Rosie she looks tired, strained, not happy at all, this is the girl who put bubbles in champagne ...hunched over and looking very bored poor thing...I wrote to the handler/breeder --no reply.  My calls were unanswered too.  I asked around and the best I could come up with is that she was "still being shown".. Well she has her championship Kim now send her home!
Any information received in the email will be held confidential for my eyes only!  If you wish me to forward it to my attorney or the RCMP please write a disclaimer.  Thanks , let's get Rosie home!
It has been since MARCH of 2001, FIVE SAD YEARS, since the loss of our "Rosie", and we have not heard from Kim Kauffman.  We did file a stolen dog report after giving this woman all benefit of the doubt and realizing she was not going to return our baby, that she had done similar things to other people (kept their dogs and/or their papers) ...AND STILL THIS WOMAN WORKS AS A HANDLER, PASSES HERSELF OFF AS A PROFESSIONAL WHEN SHE IS NOT REGISTERED WITH THE PROFESSIONAL HANDLERS ASSOCIATION OF CANADA, AND SELLS PUPPIES TO INNOCENT PEOPLE WITHOUT TELLING THEM THE TRUTH!!!  Someday she may decide too keep YOUR dog too, like she did mine!

We hired a lawyer, but unfortunately for everyone in the world, 911 happened a few short months after this woman pulled her stunt, so civil matters internationally, (Canada and the US) were put on hold. I hope the war ends soon and our boys come home safely as I am a Proud American, but I will continue to pursue this woman until the day I die, or until she gives me my Rosie back!  Below you can see samplings of some of what I wrote back then.

I feel, after 5 years, there is no excuse, I can give no more "benefit of the doubt".  It is clear that this woman stole my dog! By the way, she reimbursed the other American citizen involved, who was content to settle for her money back but she had never lived with Rosie and enjoyed her loving, obedient, smart, gentle ways, or her singing, which we all miss here at Oh My Cockers!

Rosie has also been rumoured to be living in a puppy mill, and still whelping puppies at 6 years old.  I never wanted to breed her, I just wanted to have her as my "heart dog", but Kim insisted on getting puppies back from her (one out of each of 3 litters). Kim never returned her to fulfill that part of the agreement though. Also, for those that may know of some of her puppies, I never signed any papers releasing my ownership of her to Kim or the puppy mill lady (who registered her as AKC) so those papers have been forged.
