IN THIS ISSUE:

Well, it's all over for another year. The ribbons, bows, and boxes are stored away and perhaps life will return to normal. Still no grandchild. My daughter is overdue and the doctor says the baby is well over 9 lbs! By the time he gets here, he'll be ready for college. We were hoping for First Baby of the Year, but, at the moment we'll settle for just having him born healthy.

I hope your holidays were as great as mine. I drove my package shaking grandson crazy by giving him an empty box for Christmas. I sent him on a "treasure hunt" for clues until he finally found his present. Serves him right for guessing all his other presents. All the kids had fun looking for clues with him. Added a new dimension to Christmas morning.

After all my story telling about my husband and his obsessive decoration buying at Christmas, I'm proud to announce he actually won FIRST PRIZE in the decorating contest! I guess that will shut me up for awhile!

Of course I messed up in the last letter again with Candy Blackman, calling her Candy Blackwell. One of my New Years Resolutions is to stop being senile. Sorry Candy! And Warren, and Linda!

Hugs to all,

Bonnie

NEWSFLASH: My daughter, Teri Figueroa, had the first baby of the year in Murietta, CA (near San Diego)! Zachary Charles Hobson was born at a few minutes past midnight, January 1, 2003, 9 lbs. 4oz. Mother and son (and Grandma) doing just fine!!

UPDATES: Warren and Linda Miller (I'm trying this again!) were acting Bartenders for the New Years Eve party at the Lions Club up in Willits. They spent the Christmas Holiday in the bay area. The ride back to Willits on 101 took them over 4 hours due to rainy weather and traffic accidents. Some people just don't know how to drive in the rain. In Southern California, if we get ¼ inch of rain we are on STORM WATCH! It's the major news story. The Bay Area gets 4 inches and it's just another rainy day. Life is funny that way.

Susie Middagh sent me some great photos of the '67 reunion. I will post them on the Classmates site in a photo album for those of you who would like to check them out.

Cameron Meeker,'65, who is currently serving civilian duties in Europe will finally be heading back to the USA in 2003. He's hoping for the Western States, but due to Priority Placement Programs, he can wind up anywhere. Here's hoping you'll wind up in the west! Most of you will remember Cameron from Crocker Highlands.

Diana Makower and her husband spent their holidays in Israel with their daughter and her family. While there, she managed a little OHS reunion with Bev Shulster Beiman. Isn't it wonderful to know some bonds are never broken, even after 37 years? I know Diana loved spending time with her grandchildren.

SURGERY UPDATE: As I mentioned in a previous letter, the surgery has again been postponed until late February, due to the results of the Sleep Apnea test. I started this process almost a year ago, and I have to admit it's very discouraging to keep having it postponed. Looking for better things in 2003.

The 65 yearbook sits with the last quarter still unscanned! I'm so DANG lazy with the holidays. Again, I'll make a try for this weekend. I've had several people request the 65 yearbook. If you are interested in a copy of the yearbook on CD, write me (as many of you already have). I can include 1964, the whole book, and 1963 Seniors and 1961 Seniors, the McChesney '62 yearbook, and the photos from the past weekly letters. The cost for this is $10 to cover expenses. The yearbooks are AS IS, in other words, all the writing done by friends is still there, but they are scanned cover to cover, including blank pages, so they can be taken to Kinko's or where ever and printed out. I had printed out '64 and had it spiral bound like a report. It works well. Be sure if you have it printed that they use at least 24 weight paper. 20 is too thin and the photos bleed through. If you are interested in getting a copy of the yearbooks, reply to this letter.
