Stana 11. 12. 2004

Ostin Stanan kun se oli vasta 3 vuotias, eli siis vuonna 1986. Se on suvultaan amerikkalais-venäläinen ravihevonen, säkäkorkeutta sille on kertynyt 165 cm ja väriltään se on ruunikonkimo.

Stanasta oli yritetty tehdä ravuria, mutta sen nopeus ei riittänyt, joten se päätyi minulle ratsuksi. Kimmo Kinnunen Varkaudesta antoi hevoselle peruskoulutuksen ja minä jatkoin sitten siitä.

Kilpailin Stanalla useita vuosia aluetasolla sekä esteissä että koulussa. Stana saavutti esteissä 110 cm:n ja koulussa IIB:n (vaativa B) tason. Stana piti enemmän esteistä, minä taas koulusta.

Vuonna 2000 entinen koirani Musi kuoli ja ostin Jonnin. Stana teloi samana kesänä oikean etujalan hankositeen tukisiteen ja joutui levolle. Paraneminen kesti sen verran kauan, että päätin jättää hepan suosiolla eläkkeelle. Stana viettääkin nyt ansaittuja eläkepäiviä kesälaitumella Kuoringassa, lähellä meidän kesämökkiämme.

I bought Stana when he was just 3-years-old. So I have owned him now about 18 years! It is a long time!

His sire is an american standardbred and dam a russian trotter. He was not fast enough so he ended up as a riding horse. Because he is a showy horse (grey and big, 16.2hh at withers) he adapted well to his new profession.

Stana and I competed mostly in dressage. He could perform half pass (all paces), travers and renvers (all paces), extended and medium walk,trot,canter , pirouette in walk and collected paces. He could do a single flying change. He was an honest horse.

Showjumping was his forte and his joy, but he had some trouble with his feet so I did not jump him often.

Stana was my companion in competitions for more that 10 years. Now he is retired. I will keep him as long as he is healthy. I owe him that!
