CO-OPERATION DAY: OKINAWA DECLARATION OBSERVED October
6, 2003 - International Co-operation Day was observed by OISCAManipur
by inviting humanist groups, government officials and villagers, in a
one-day seminar on the theme of "Changing Scenario in the
World". All the participants in the seminar discussed the role of
international cooperation for the economic development of local areas
particularly through NGOs activities. INTERNATIONAL
VOLUNTEERS' DAY OBSERVED December
5 is declared as the International Volunteers' day by the United
Nations' Organization (UNO) in order to spread the spirit of
volunteerism among the peoples of the world. In Manipur, this day
was observed under the auspices of OISCA-Manipur by organizing a one day
conference on the local volunteers' role in local area
development. The theme was "Volunteerism in Manipur".
Eminent personalities participated in the conference and a common
decision was taken to raise the number of members of OISCA-Manipur by
inviting all students from the high school level to University level. OISCA
DAY CELEBRATED As an annual feature OISCA Day was celebrated on July 23, 2004 at the conference hall of OISCA-Manipur. Mr. E. Kunjeswar Singh, IAS (Retd), President of OISCA-Manipur unfurled the OISCA flag. A group of schoolchildren who participated in OISCA Children Forest Program presented the OISCA song in the function. The President reminded the significance of the five colours of the flag that transcend national borders, religion and ethnicity. On this day, all the dedicated OISCA members and persons who are working for the betterment of the people took oath to keep in their heart and minds the basic spirit of OISCA and to work in cooperation and harmony under the flag. All the participants prayed for world peace and pledged to make their contribution to the advancement of the cause of world peace and prosperity.
