Dr. Terry A. Oxley Guest Conductor


Terry A. Oxley, Associate Professor of Music, has served as Director of Bands at Bloomsburg University since 1984. Prior to his appointment, he served as Director of Bands at Rhinelander High School in Rhinelander, Wisconsin. He holds the Bachelor of Music Education degree from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, the Masters of Music Education degree from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and the Doctor of Arts degree in wind conducting and clarinet from the University of Northern Colorado.



Dr. Oxley has performed with the Greeley Philharmonic Orchestra, OperaWorks of Pennsylvania, and is currently principal clarinetist with the Schuylkill Symphony Orchestra. His various publications include original works and arrangements for band, choir, chamber ensemble and solo woodwinds.



Dr. Oxley has studied conducting with Eugene Corporon, Frederick Fennell and Robert Reynolds and has worked closely with noted band composers Samuel Adler, Elliot Del Borgo, John Zdechlik, Jack Stamp, Robert Jager and Francis McBeth. He serves frequently as a guest conductor, clinician and adjudicator in Pennsylvania, New York and Wisconsin.
