Objective

The objective of this game is to be the first player to score 75 points. The scoring system looks awkward when you first play the game, but when you become more regular it is more understandable. There can be as many players playing the same game. A problem sometimes experienced when too many play the same game is: you may not get a go in some rounds.

ParBot will request a set of letters in blue. For example, if your name on #passthebomb is SHaDY` and ParBot says "SHaDY` Say a word containing and," you must type a word which contains the letters and in that particular order. Some examples are candle, candlestick, androgyny, standing and mandatory. Basically, the longer the word, the more points you will score at that go.

The basic scoring system

3 letter word = 1 point, 4 letter word = 2 points, 5 letter word = 3 points, 6 letter word = 4 points, and so on. The maximum points you can score in the basic scoring system varies from 10-12. A 12 letter word is probably the limit on how long your word can go, but there are some exceptions. ie. Confrontation is valid, and will get you 11 points and is 13 letters long. There have been some complaints about the "small dictionary" ParBot uses, this is why some additional words have been added. Usually the maximum is 12 letters though.

The advanced scoring system

If ParBot says "SHaDY` Say a word containing and," and you type one of the words mentioned above, you will receive the basic score. eg. candle will get you 4 points as it is 6 letters long, standing will get you 6 points as it is 8 letters long, candlestick will get you 9. To achieve a double or triple word score, you have to type a word which contains the given letters twice such as grandstand. Instead of the scoring single points, your score will be 8 x 2. grandstand will yield you 16 points if and is the given letters.

The monthly reset program

Passthebomb's bot resets every month. On the first day of each month, the scorechart will go back to zero. If you want to view the scores when no games are playing, type !scores. If you want to view the cumilative scores. ie. total scores without reset, type !scores2. Type !stats if you want to view your winning rate and average scores per game. I believe the bot resets at 12:00am Perth time at the start of each month. The monthly scores can be seen at the bottom of this website as of June 27.

2 player game vs 3 player game

If there are only two players, there will be no bomb activated. You will play against another person till you reach 75 or more, but the letters will alternate at every turn. Say you get ie, then type a word containing those letters. ParBot will immediately pass the bomb to the other player and change letters.

In a three player game, changes in letters are less likely occur within the same round. When I say "round," I mean every interval where the bomb goes off. When the game is started it is round one. After the bomb goes off for round one, then round two begins. The bomb exists in a three player game. This bomb acts as a breather, a 30 second break until a new round starts. The new period will begin with new letters from ParBot. The consequence of getting bombed is you will lose ten points. Sometimes this is costly if you are around the 75 point mark. Good Luck.
