......Perhaps one of West Virginia's most photographed vistas, this glorious view is now endangered by tembering. The landowner has revealed plans to log the walls of Blackwater Canyon seen here from Blackwater State park Lodge. How do you feel about this? Do you folks will come to see this as a clear-cut area? In December 1997, a compromise was reached with the logging company that owns the canyon. According to this deal, about 750 acres would be given up in order to protect the view of the canyon. In exchanged for this land, the company was offered an undisclosed amount of land now owned by the National Forrest Service in Tucker County. However, additional land around the park is in danger. Although this deal may be encouraging, we must strive to protect our park and the tourist generated revenue that it brings to the state.
