The Principle That Governs My Life in This World

The priniciple that governs my life in this world is this: I have a duel Citizenship. To perhaps state this more plainly, I am a citizen of the United States of America, and I am a citizen of the Kingdom of God.

This means that I have two constitutions: The Constitution of the United States and the Bible. The U.S. Constitution gives me some of the direction I need to be all that I can be as a U.S. citizen and proclaims the basic freedoms that I can claim as a citizen. The Bible, the written word of God, carries these guidelines to a higher level, gives me a blue print for my life which includes authority for my place of service in the Kingdom, states God's plan of salvation and applies it to my life, and grants to me the promises of God in written form. While the Constitution of the U.S. grants me a limited protection as a U.S. citizen, the Bible states the whole protection I have in God as a citicen of the Kingdom.

Where there are two authorities, one most have the higher place and the other the lower position. As a U.S. Citizen, I am obligated to follow the laws of this land. As a citizen of the Kingdom of God, I am obligated to follow the laws of this land as long as I can do so without violating the laws of God. When the Constitution of this secular land is in direct conflict with my God's constitution for His children, then I must have enough courage to take my stand for the will of God as stated in His word and as authenicated by the Holy Spirit.

Now, another truth has to be made clear. The Kingdom of God is governed by His love. Therefore, even if I have to take my stand against laws that may be made counter to the Word of God, I have to do so in love. There is no precedent that Jesus made by which I can act with violence. I can not destroy, maim, or kill in the name of Christ. If I do so, I am in complete violation of the love of God and therefore I am not acting in God's behalf. I might do so in the name of religion, but not in the name of Jesus Christ. Therefore, no matter how I am treated by those who are not yet part of the Kingdom, I must respond to these actions with a demonstration of love and understanding. May God grant me the strength to all I can be in Him.

I can not comprehend how any church group or any true Christian individual can "wrestle" with or compromise with any idea or "law" that is plainly contrary to the will and law of God to whom they assert that they owe allegiance to. It is not for the Children of God to appease the flawed appetites and diesires of the people. It must be the longing and the duty of the Church to seek to please God. We must not align ourselves with or embrace the way of thinking of people who have not allowed themselves to be subject to the word of God and thereby find ourselves leading astray those very sheep for whom we are called to lead into the fold of God. We must listen to the word of God and not to the word of the land.

It is essential for God to be first in my life.

If He is first, then the true needs of the people will be served. On this page, it was not my desire to pontificate, but to simply state the truth in the love of Christ. May all of God's children be brave but harmless as doves.
