Amid Fire and Ice

By: Daleok357

Outside my window it's pure and it's white,
Wind whipped snow;
Piles two foot in height.
Winter laden branches of the conifer trees,
Like nature was placed,
In a crystalline freeze.

The silence surrounds, the whole forest it covers,
And my thoughts turn to you;
And I wish we were lovers.
To hold you so close on this cold winter night,
Would make every fantasy come true;
Make everything right.

Would sit passions a flame to blaze like the fire,
Our two hearts both pounding;
They throb with desire.
The flame on the hearth might kindle the need,
In each for the other;
on these passions we'd feed.

Until consumed by the inferno of love's sweet desire,
Our souls glow white hot;
Like the coals of the fire.
Now give each to the other according to need,
All things requested;
Regardless of creed.

Our spirits would soar to the heavens above,
On wings filled with passion;
Held aloft by our love.
Oh the dance they would do bound closely together,
As still higher they fly;
Above winters weather.

So sweet and tender is this union of love,
A prayer has been granted;
From the heavens above.
When two hearts beat as one and two souls did take flight,
When I held you so close;
On that cold winters night.

Till at the crest of the arch, the apex of their flight,
Our souls would look down;
On such a beautiful sight.
Warmth from the cold is an oasis so nice,
When two loves come together;
Amid fire and ice.
