NOVEMBER

Tuesday, November 2 Business Meeting, 7 p.m. at the Youth Room. Don’t miss this important meeting! Several decisions will be made and events planned, including:

Final vote for the name change of the group from "OLA 20/30s" to "OLA Young Adult Group."

Outcome of the Budget & By-law meeting.

January and February calendar planning (because Christmas Mass will be celebrated in lieu of a Dec. business meeting).

Sign-ups for the Christmas potluck and discussion of our adopted families for Thanksgiving & Christmas.

Please plan on attending and sharing your opinions and ideas!
Friday, November 5

Taize Prayer @ Mercy Center. If you would like to join other young adults in attending this special form of prayer, please meet in the OLA parking lot at 7pm to carpool to Mercy Center (parking there is extremely limited).

Saturday, November 6 **Casino Night, 7:30 p.m. at OLA gym. It's just like being in Vegas, but you're in a church hall (and it is a fundraiser!). The 20/30s group is sponsoring a craps table at this year’s Casino night, sponsored by the Men’s Club. Chips are cashed in for raffle tickets at the end of the night.

**Keeping Our Day Jobs at Moon McShane’s, 9pm – 1am.

An evening for great music and dancing with Kevin, Tom and the band. No cover charge. 269 Primrose in Burlingame.

"Two Tribes" Fellowship

Our monthly fellowship will bring Jewish and Catholic young adults together for discussion on "Community Service - Catholic and Jewish Perspective". 7-9pm at St. Mary's Cathedral - Hall A (under the Cathedral) 1111 Gough St. @ Geary St. in SF. Mary @ (415) 565-3600 x2045

Sunday, November 14 Young Adult Liturgy and Thanksgiving Dinner

We’ll join the teens for a celebration of Thanksgiving in the Lower Hall immediately following 6 p.m. Mass. Sign up for what to bring at the Nov-ember business meeting.

Saturday, November 19 Swing Night Benefit at St. Dominic’s, 8 p.m. Join the young adults of St. Dominic’s Church for a night of swing lessons and dancing for a good cause (this event benefit St. Joseph's Village, an Archdiocesan sponsored shelter). Cost is $10. St. Dominic’s is at 2390 Bush (at Steiner) in San Francisco. Call (415) 567-7824 for details.

Sunday, November 21 RENEW Potluck, 7 p.m. at the Nortons’. RENEW participants are invited to attend this potluck dinner as we conclude another season. What to bring???

Sunday, December 5

Young Adult Education Meeting at St. Dominic’s. Join other young adults in the Bay Area for a discussion on how to develop continuing education programs for young adults. Meeting from 2-5 pm followed by a Young Adult Mass at 5:30. Contact Susan W. for details (trainersusan@yahoo.com).

Wednesday, December 8 Christmas Mass and Party, 6 p.m. There is no December business meeting so that we may share in a celebration of the joy of Christmas. Join us for this special evening at Stephanie’s house. Mass begins at 6, with a potluck dinner to follow. Get directions and sign up to bring a dinner item at the November business meeting.

Thursday, December 9 Choir Practice, 7:30 p.m. at the Norton’s (1128 Cortez)

Friday, December 10 Ecumenical Service at OLA, 7:30 p.m. Plan on attending this service, which will gather members of several Christian communities in the area to prepare our hearts for the new millennium. Watch the bulletin for more details.

Sunday, December 12 Young Adult Liturgy, 6 p.m.

Wednesday, December 15 Caroling Night for the Seniors.

Meet at the OLA parking lot at 6:30pm. We’ll carpool to Sunbridge Rehabilitation Center to join residents for Christmas Caroling. Cookies & hot choco-late follow at the Nortons’.

Also, a HUGE round of applause for Tish Norton and the entire team that planned the Monday Night Football fundraiser. This year’s event brought in over $730, our highest total to date!

~Farewell to Brett Smith as our choir leader. Brett was presented with a 12 string guitar as a gesture of thanks for his 15 years leading our choir…and all FREE of charge.
