Oldale

This page is provided so we can post notices in search of various members of the Oldale Family. It will serve as a sort of "push-pin" board in which you can hopefully make contact with someone you've lost touch with, or have never met.

Like other pages on this site, this page will only serve as useful if you use it and submit your requests to me so they can be posted for others to see.

Notes: No idea what happened to Florence, however, her daughter made contact with the family a long time ago. I'm still working on this lead.

Notes: (in a letter from his Grandson to me)
Dear Grant,
I have a couple interesting hours searching through old mail and papers
that used to belong to my father.  Here is some key information:

 My father was Roland Oldale (always called Roy)was born on December 18, 1901.

His father was Harry Oldale, and mother Gertrude (maiden name Alflat). I actually have my father's birth
certificate., and other information. I think he was about 70 when he died in 1943, so that means he must have been born about 1873,
maybe a little earlier, because my father's older brother was born in 1892. His name was Harry as well.
The younger brother was named George Arthur Oldale and lived later in his life at 18690 Almunecar, Spain. Born in 1912, I think, he had two sons -- the eldest is Simon
Oldale, born in 1943 who has three children. The only nam e I have is Karine, born in 1970. In a lletter dated
October, 1987, she was 17 and attending the Medical School at St Thomas (Surrey, England? - I don't know)
His youngest son is called Giles. also living in England.

Back to my grandfather, here is some other information. He ran a business
that was a "furniture and furnishings warehouse" at 129 Gell St, Sheffield, and at 290 Langsett Rd,
Sheffield. He was Harry Oldale and his wife was Gertrude. My father was
born in the house at 129 Gell St. So, they must have been at this address for around 50 years.

Descendants of Thomas Leslie Gervase Oldale born 1911 died Mar 24, 1941 in Beaufort, Monmouthshire.

Married to Gwyneth Doreen Coope born Nov 11, 1914. Marriage took place Sept 26, 1936 in Romford Essex.
