Fishing Derby –Rules
and Regulations
1. MUST be 15 years of age or younger
2. Must be officially registered and identification
number must be readily available to any official derby
personnel upon request
3. AGREES to abide to the official rules and
regulations and agrees that failure to comply with any
of the rules will result in automatic disqualification
and forfeiture of all prizes and recognition as a
prizewinner.
4. MAY only enter fish caught upon a single hook
and line and retrieved by rod and reel
5. MAY only enter fish caught in the east channel
of Elllicott Creek between the fish net at the south
end of Island Park and the dam at the north end of
Island Park.
6. Must enter the fish whole, not gaffed, gutted or
snagged, and the winners will be determined by the
length of the fish: in the event of a tie, the person
who enters the fish first, according to the time
recorded official’s fish entry form, will be the
winner.
7. FISH will be examined for gill net marks,
bleached gills, hook and/or gaff marks, fin rot or
fungus, any of which will disqualify the fish
8. AGREES to submit, if required by any Derby
Official, the fish to both internal and external
examination.
9. MAY only enter fish caught between the hours of
9:00 am and Noon.
10. AGREES that the decision of the judges will be
final and not review able.
11. Is entitled to only one final major prize (no
participant may win more than one prize), although
contestants may enter one or more fish and, if
succeeding fish is larger, the smaller fish will be
withdrawn.
12. AGREES to hold the Derby officials, sponsors,
their agents, servants and/or employees, harmless from
any liability of any nature and kind for injuries
and/or damages suffered by the entrants during the
period that the derby is held.
