Welcome !
This site is, dedicated to the historic Holy Family Orphanage building in Marquette, Michigan. Like many in the Marquette area, I have been an admirer of this unique and beautiful property. With permission of the building's last two owners, Mr. Roger Rinne and then Creative Kids University, I had the opportunity to enter the building on two separate occasions to document the decay of this building's interior on film. The results of which are viewable on this site via the two galleries. All photos are for sale, either individually, or by series, purchase details are outlined in each gallery.
Over the course of the past three decades, this building has stood vacant and unused. It has been defaced by vandals and used by young people as a place to party. The property has not been without controversy since being abandoned by the Diocese of Marquette. It has changed hands, multiple times and the City of Marquette recently had plans to condemn the building.
Fortunately, through the vision of Creative Kids University (CKU) Founder & Education Director, Mrs. Treasure Lampi, the building has been purchased and restoration and rennovations have already begun. Upon completion of rennovations, CKU will inhabit this 80.000 square foot landmark and the halls will once again echo with the sounds of childrens' voices.
