Tulip Trees

Younger than then I am today
Hungry for the truth
Reached for clouds beyond my grasp
Teach me what she knew

(chorus)
She said, "Come with me
To the land of the Tulip Trees
We'll lie beneath their shady hours..."
She said, "Stand by me
And I'll set you free
To know and feel reality..."

Beckoned me with misty moves
Teardrops in her eyes
Winsome woman, complete unknown
Stillborn thoughts arise.

(repeat chorus)

Fortunes whisper, and angles tread
Fools like me persist
Dreams awaken as hopes lie dead
I'll nevermore resist

(end chorus)
When she says, "Come with me
To the land of the Tulip Trees
We'll lie beneath their shady hours..."
I'll say, "Stand by me
And I'll set you free
To know and feel reality..."
