"The Close Of A Chapter In Life"

To day at noon I ventured outside,
into the Summers heat.
I sat and watched the cows and horses
in the pasture across the street.
My neighbors little dogs came over
to where I sat beneath the trees
So playful were they, I smiled as I watched them
but no Bandy was at my feet.

I looked up into the blue sky ,
it was so very clear.
Not a cloud was drifting by
as I leaned back in my chair.
Then all at once there it was
so white and fluffy too.
On it’s shores there were two out lines,
that had a familiar hue.

I watched as the cloud drew near
until I could no longer believe my eyes.
The two people I love the most
were standing there side by side.
They motioned for me to join them
in that cloud so fluffy and white.
The weather then cooled as a gentle wind blew,
like a zephyr in the night.

I close my eyes and was wisped away
for they had taken me be the hand
The Beautiful countenance of my loving Midge
did envelop this heavenly strand.
“There’s something we want you to see
just yonder a little ways.
He misses you too although he’s only been
here with us these few days.”

I walked alone between them,
until I saw to my surprise
my beautiful Bandy waiting,
where the cloud rose up so high.
He wagged his tail and came running
the minute he saw me
I sat down as he came close
laying his head upon my knee.

The afternoon passed so quickly
filled with happiness, filled with cheer.
With the love of my life,
a friend by my side and the dog I’d loved for years.
Until at length they told me,
“you know you can not stay”.
I opened my eyes and they were gone,
they had slowly faded away.

I know they're together,
my Midge who was beautiful in so many ways.
Her lovely sister Kathleen who cared for her,
all through her many sick days.
Then my buddy Bandit,
who for a time was my only friend.
He’s now guarding another gate
and some day he’ll let me in.

The Melody Is:

"Endless Love"

I chose this Melody because I believe that Real Love
does not end with the passing of time.

To me
Real Love
Is Endless.
