Royal Rangers is structured to minister to five age groups:
Straight Arrows - ages 5 & 6
Theme - Native American
Buckaroos - ages 7 & 8
Theme - Western
Pioneers - ages 9 - 11
Theme - Early American Pioneer
Trailblazers - ages 12 - 14
Theme - Advanced Pioneering
Challengers - ages 15 - 17
Themes:
Harvesters - Ministry focus
Trail Rangers - traditional Wilderness Adventuring
Air Rangers - Aviation focus
In the United States, women are allowed to become leaders for the two younger age groups. Although women can provide support for the Pioneers and up, only men can become leaders.
It's important to note that the success of the program hinges on the loving and prayerful support of many commander's wives and church congregations. Without their blessing, many of the training activities for the leaders would be immpossible!
