Students have the option of participating in yearly examinations with a qualified examiner from the Scottish Official Board of Highland Dancing.  With each examination completed, with a passing mark, the dancer receives a medal and a certificate.

Each year the students strive to meet the expectations of the next examination.

Students also have the option to compete in many of the Scottish Highland Games and dance competitions.  In order to do so, the dancer must register with ScotDance Canada, a governing body for competition, which is required by the Scottish Official Board of Highland Dancing.  This allows the dancer to compete throughout the world in most competitions.
