GROUP ROUND | ||||||||||
In the first round, the 16 timelines were separated into 5 groups according to their Point of Divergence. The 5 groups were Pre-1800 POD, 1800-1850 POD, 1850-1900 POD, WW2 POD, and 20th Century POD. The winner of each group was immediately selected to advance into the Top Five Vote. Each vote lasts for approximately 4 days. |

FINAL ROUND | ||||||||||
In the final round, two separate votes take place; one for the Top Five phase, and one for the relegation phase. The final tally indicates the final ranking of the timeline according to the phase it is in. This means that no phase cross-over takes place. Each votes lasts for approximately 5 days
SATIRE ROUND | ||||||||||
This round, which is separate from the three rounds listed above, is to determine which is the best satirical, stupid, or just plain worthless timeline. All four timelines are put into one group, and the final tally indicates the final ranking of the timeline. This vote lasts for approximately 4 days
TIE-BREAK PROCEDURE | ||||||||||
In the case of an incomplete tie, a 3 day run-off vote occurs, with the final results indicating the ranking of the timelines into the placements for which the vote was tied. A run-off vote shall only occur if the tie has an effect on an advance to the next round, or on final rankings. In the case of a deadlocked tie, all tied timelines shall be given the same rank. |
