Topic: The Last Scouting Year
Last year was a growing year for all of us. We gained new people, and in ways, lost others.
Two new leaders were invested to join our ranks. They are greatly appreciated for their dedicated work and bright ideas.
We welcomed new Beavers and Cubs, as we do each year, and were glad to have the group we recieved.
And as we gain, we also lose.
Our longtime Group Scouter, the adult we had guiding us, teaching us and, at times, posting bail for us is slowly stepping back from us, and letting us run our own program. We know he'll always be around if we need him, but he's moving on somewhat to bigger and better (and more paper-work filled) things...
Thank you Grey Brother.
Kidding about the posting bail thing, by the way.. Honestly, it's just a running joke in our group.

Our Spring Camp went quite well, considering our small numbers and the weather that seemed determined to keep us inside...
We showed that rain who was boss! ...Even if we had to have our ceremonial campfire indoors!
Here's to accidently discovering the recipe for Mexican Drinking Chocolate one random evening and using it as cake topping, chocolate milk base, coffee flavouring...
Congratulations to the youngest Beaver who made the long hike when we weren't sure he could. Just goes to prove that Beavers Do Bounce.
Of course, congratulations to all of our Beavers and Cubs for that camp. We had the best rainy-weather camp ever! Even if the Cubs didn't get to sleep in that tent.
We know you would have, but we didn't want you getting sick from all that wind and rain!
OUR KIDS ARE HARDCORE CAMPERS!

Also, congrats to all of our Badge recipients this year. I think all of you Cubs earned your Collectors Badges, and most of you got First Aid, Hiking and Cycling.
And to all of our Beavers who earned their Blue Tails. Way to go Beavers!

I think that's it for now. Too many fun things to recount this past year. From Baden-Powell Banquet featuring Treasure Hunts and Chill's Macaroni Mush to Beaver/Cub Boot Camp.
