We have a lot of exciting ideas bouncing around for things to do this coming year. What's one of our favorite activities?
THEME DAYS!!!!!!
Our theme days include activities, crafts, games, competitions and sometimes, even COSTUMES (that we either make ourselves as crafts during meetings for a few weeks before the the event, or create at home out of old Hallowe'en
or Dress-Up costumes!)
We've had some successful theme days in the past. Our favourite so far is Medieval Day!
We all dressed up as kings, queens, knights, peasants and the like and had some great fun!
There was jousting, and Capture the Castle. There was music and skits and we even went on a DRAGON HUNT!
We love theme days. The kids love theme days.
What more could we ask for?

September: Was our intro month, including a visit from some friendly aliens for Adventure in Space Day!
January: Winter Olympics Month. Hurray for winter sports!
February: Nostalgia Month. We had our traditional Baden-Powell Banquet in honour of our founder Lord Robert Stephenson Smythe Baden-Powell. We had so much planned we couldn't even fit it all in!
March: Our Air Band competition rocked the house! 135th Beavers brought home the gold, as did the 112 Girl Cubs! Congrats! To everyone, in particular the 135th Greaser Beavers!
April: April has been a great month so far! Cubs have been linking with our sister group, the 112th Crystal Beach, and so they've been over in their meeting area.
Beavers have still been at St. Stephen's learning about Foods and Nutrition. We've made trail mix [each kid making their own special blend] and talked about how the different elements help your body.
The Cubs joined us one night when it was just too snowy to visit 112, and we baked organic muffins! Good Times!
Also, with help from Grey Brother, all of the kids planted some seeds which are starting to grow. Yay!
The rest of the year is shaping up nicely. Camp at Opemikon will be mid-June. We hope for at least one more theme day (suggestions are welcome!)
