Ruff's Den

Traveler, by Ferrel

Traveler

The traveler soon had reached our gates,
he wore a sorrowed face,
A fox was he, one quite like me,
and looking for a mate,
"Ello!" He barked "The name is Ace!",
"Who owns this lovely place?",
Twas my reply, brought tear to eye,
which made 'im yip "Goodbye!",
The traveler now picked up his pace,
astonished by his fate,
"What did you tell him?" asked my date,
I told her straight and true,
"Come on in 'an stay for dinner!,
you'd look perfect, on my plate!".
