| Kathy Gale left "The Red Skelton Hour" in January, 1969 for a new variety show, "What's It All About World?". Having already been a featured musical guest on the Skelton show, there was probably little room for career growth there. "What's It All About World?" presented more varied opportunities. Kathy not only performed in the dance numbers but also appeared in the introduction of comedian Ron Prince on three occasions. She also appeared in three skits. The "Naval Buddies" sketch with Kathy, Dean Jones and Dennis Allen was one of the show's best. If you're a Kathy Gale fan, "What's It All About World?" is a must see. Unfortunately, the show failed to find an audience and was cancelled after a thirteen week run. During that brief history the program was reworked after the seventh show with "The Kevin Carlisle Three" becoming "The Kevin Carlisle Dancers", featuring an expanded lineup and more intense performances but a somewhat reduced screen presence in terms of minutes per show. The show's original intro segment, which featured "The Kevin Carlisle Three", was scrapped in favor of a vocal number featuring host Dean Jones. You can view video of Kathy Gale in action on "What's It All About World?" by clicking on any of the captures on your left. Since the cancellation of "What's It All About World?", Kevin Carlisle has choreographed "Solid Gold", many of Barry Manilow's shows, and many other television and stage shows. Lorene Yarnell, the third member of the company, formed the mime team of "Shields and Yarnell" with Robert Shields and has appeared in several movies and tv shows. Kathy Gale could be seen dancing on television in the 1970's on "The Captain And Tennille Show" (Kathy was also Assistant Choreographer on some of those shows), the 1977 Perry Como special "Music From Hollywood", with Jay Osmond on "Donny And Marie", and in the movie "Invisible Strangler". I'm still seeking information about Kathy's career between "What's It All About World?" and "The Captain And Tennille Show".
