What is BloodBowl?

In the Warhammer World, death and destruction are commonplace occurances. But nothing can match the violence and carnage generated in a single Blood Bowl match! For those of you new to Blood Bowl, imagine a game of Warhammer crossed with American football and rugby and you'll have something close to the maniacal, bone-crushing, mind-jarring action of a Blood Bowl match. Today almost every race now fields at least one team. From the stunningly mediocre performance of the Halfling Bluebay Crammers (they kept throwing stickybuns instead of the ball) to the grudgebearing fury of the Championship-winning Dwarf Giants, Blood Bowl has become the most popular spectator sport in the Warhammer World (don't let your players go into the crowds because the spectators are often more dangerous than the players - Dan).

Now veteran and rookie coaches can test their mettle on the Blood Bowl pitch. The best thing about Blood Bowl is that you create your own team, selecting your starting players and positions with the 1,000,000 gold crowns you are alotted at the beginning of the season. You can watch your players and your team develop (or degrade) throughout the entire season by playing matches against other teams, hopefully with a couple of wins under your belt. When played in a league format, as we are here at Games Workshop HQ right now, Blood Bowl becomes an awesome, action-packed, gaming frenzy with stats being kept, vendettas being waged and legends being born! Blood Bowl will allow you to feel the thrill of victory or the agony of defeat (ouch!).
