Come now the dawning of the day
Within my world of blue
I stare across the ocean waves
With just my thoughts of you
So far beyond my loneliness
You have no thought of me
I see your face
I call you name
But it will never be
Trapped within a hopeless love
Your captive I remain
Imprisoned in a world of dreams
Of want and make-believe
I curse the day that first we met
I rue that fateful day
You took my heart with but a glance
And now you've gone away
The stillness of the lonely night
Is far too much for me
I wander in the full moon's light
Beside a cold dark sea
At times it seems I hear you call
A voice upon the breeze
Yet you live in another world
You never think of me
Why did I fall in love with you
I know it cannot be
But how to quench this flame of love
How to deny such need
Perhaps in time it all will die
Passing as summer's breeze
But until then I want you so
Though it will never be
