There exists today
A lonely heart as void as mine
In the twilight of the day
Forgotten dreams and fantasies
As dust upon the shelf
Lost within sheer solitude
Gone now as is all else

Yesterday's and memories
At times will ease the pain
Yet as a fragrant vapor
Too soon they fade away
Passing as a ray of light
To shadows of the day
Leaving hearts in brokenness
In cold reality

Love once a burning passion
Is now a distant dream
A shining star within the night
Of long forgotten days
Reflections in the mirror
Of a far too distant youth
Filled with love and new romance
And images of you
