From the colonies to Desert Storm,
serving in countless wars,
our lives have been given to you
so the world we love could survive,
free of tyranny and oppression.

Last breaths have been laid down
so the free and brave will not be in vain.

Endured agonies for peace
have to be preserved in order
for us to rest eternal.

Hands of honor must be extended
out of friendship and respect
so chances of survival are great.

Our children's children deserve
opportunities to taste freedom,
but while dying of natural causes.

We need not expose young flesh
to the carnage of war.

The cause of freedom is priceless,
human life is irreplaceable,
as is the planet on which we are buried.

Let our deaths not be in vain.

Peace through reasoning
should be the preferred path chosen.

Let us try to avoid
creating new tombs of the unknown.
