August 5- Well hello there! Today I am in Louisiana, and the past few days have been awesome. On Friday we got to go back to CNN to get a VIP tour and we actually got to go in the studio's and we were in the newsroom on TV. How cool is that? We even had news anchors wave to us and pass us in the hallways. It was really cool. It was a tour where no one ever gets to go. We had a great time in Georgia with Aunt Vicki and Randy. I can't wait to go back to visit. It's going to be awesome. Then yesteday was day 1 for our Amtrak adventure. It was ok. I got very impactient after awhile. We did have a whole lot to do, But it was still an adventure. Tomorrow we start the train again in the sleeper car so hopefully that's a little bit better. But yesterday there were these kids on the train about 15, and boy were they crazy but entertaining. I told Megan is was SNL on the train! And then today we explored New Orleans. We went to the Lower Ninth Ward which was really sad. It was so had to imagine how bad it could have been when it was already bad. Crazy. After that we went to the French Quarter for lunch and got souveniers in the fastest time we ever did that. Then we came back to the hotel for a bit and went back out to the city. There was some cool stuff and interesting people. After a few more hours back out we came back to the hotel to get ready for dinner. We ate at Emril's Restaurant. I was planning on getting New Orleans food, you know jambayla or seafood, well there wasn't a whole lot of options and I ended up getting Pork Chops. Let me tell you, I think tonight was the bestest food I have ever eaten in my entire life. It was so good. Yumm! The bill wasn't so yumm, but it was worth it! New Orleans was fun and now it's off to bed for tomorrow's big adventure. August 9- Well I can't believe it! The 2007 Summer Road Trip is over! I had such a great time this year on the trip. First let me tell you about our last few days on the train. It was a lot better than our train was from Atlanta to New Orleans. We had our own little room and that was really kind of cool. We played games, and read, and talked. It was a really fun time. We met people from all over and most of them were going on vacation as for us, we were ending our vacation. This year was such a blast, and to be honest with you, I think for me, this has been my favorite trip ever. Yes, even beating our last year's Europe trip. I think my favorite part of the entire trip was being with Aunt Vicki! She always knows how to have a good time. Megan asked me when we were in Georgia if I was sad we got kicked out of CNN that one day, and I told Megan that I really wasn't, I would rather spend time with and next to my Aunt than be on a tour without her. This year's trip was so incredible and we had such a great time. Every year just gets better and better, and I know next year's cruise is just going to blow this year's trip away, but for now, this trip was one I will never forget, and I'm really glad we got to do this trip. And to be honest, although we have our moments, I can't imagine doing these trips without anyone else beside Megan. And to Megan, you are my bestest friend, thank you for all great times this trip, and I love you. |
