BTTF Trilogy Screening - Los Angeles |
The famous Hollywood "Cinerama Dome" movie theater on Sunset Blvd. |
This next set of pictures were taken at the May 24,1990 special Trilogy screening of "Back To The Future III" preceeded by screenings of BTTF I & II. The idea was to premier BTTF III but also to make it a real media event by screening all 3 films one after the other. We got special T-Shirts to commenorate the day as well as being able to talk "up close and personal" with Lea Thompson, Bob Zemekis, Bob Gale and Neil Canton
It was a huge media event with one of the real cars from the film there as a show piece as you enter the famous Cinerama Dome on Sunset Blvd. Die hard BTTF fans lined up early to get a good place in line. Robert Zemekis Bob Gale and Neil Canton even paid for a caterer to come in and serve us free coffee, juice, donuts and pastries as we waited in line (out of their own pocket) when they saw how many of us had gotten there early to spend the day with them ......a real class act!!
The excitement mounted as Western type musicians, jugglers, showed up to entertainment everyone. I had driven my car there and got many people to look at it.. |

"Hey, where's the @#$&! battery in this thing? |
In order to show the car in public fire safety rules mandated that the car be non-functional. This meant that the gas needed to be drained (hence the gas can near the front left tire) and that the battery needed to be dis-connected. As you can see the guys from Universal are searching for the battery......in the wrong place. The fellow on the ground was swearing up a storm as he thought it was in the engine compartment. They thought they were going to have to remove ALL the rear deck components just to unhook the battery
WELL.....after taking this picture I walked up to them and said "Uh, the battery isn't under there" they replied "it isn't?" "Nope. it's behind the passenger seat inside the car". With that the guy on the ground got up and I walked over to the car and showed them. They were quite grateful that I stopped them from making a big mistake so I asked them if they would take my picture in the car. |
