History: The Outlaws
Amongst the three super-powers of space, the outlaws are by far the most un-predictable. Each outlaw has a different motivation and a means of carrying out his plans. For some, heck for most, violence is the preferred method. Why pay for something you could steal? But this is not to say that outlaws are common thieves. Most outlaws do live by a code of morals. Though the code may be of their own making, it tends to center around honor. But like any other group of people, there are the good ones and the bad ones. The bad ones carry out their jobs crudely and with brute force. These outlaws are rarely respected and are only feared at best. These types of outlaws rarely get their hands on the big jobs and are left with nothing but small pickings. The technological end of the outlaws is on the lower end of the space wide spectrum. Outlaw ships tend to rely heavily on the skill of their pilots rather than on simple strength. Their ships also tend to be smaller and faster allowing for better maneuverability. In packs, outlaw ships can quickly become the dominating force in a dog fight. The fast wit and reaction times of their crews allow for outlaw ships of lower power to be even more than a match for even some of the best of the pirate and space forces ships. Along with their ships, outlaws also tend to rely on what most consider to be out of date technology. In truth, the weapons an outlaw relies on may be simpler, but they're also reliable. And for an outlaw, reliability in his weapons is one thing thats invaluable.
