My music picks

The Blenders - This is a group featured in the Primarily A Cappella page and catalog. They are based out of Minnesota and have two incredible Christmas CDs that are mostly a cappella. If you live in the Midwest, check out one of their concerts.

Chapter 6 - This group is a fun group to watch - they do an a cappella version of "Bohemian Rhapsody" and "The Wizard of Oz." Check them out when they're in your area.

Eclipse - This group is quickly becoming one of my favorites. They met at Utah State and have four albums out. Their site includes sound clips to sample their music. They have their albums in numerical order: Once, Think Twice, Three Kings, and For Show. (Get it? For Show? See the samples on their site.

moosebutter - This group is a comedy group based in Utah. Check out their site and take a moment to download one of their sound clips. I like "Star Wars" but feel free to check out others. Moosebutter likes you.

What do you get when you combine a guy who "plays" a trap set vocally, a vocal brass band, a rapper, and a combined vocal range that exceeds the grand staff? You get Naturally Seven. They also have sound clips on their site.

Take 6 - This group is likely one of the most influential a cappella groups in existence today. Eclipse lists them as "the masters of contemporary harmony." Another nice perk to this site is that it has background music giving you a taste of their style.

More to come as I get ambitious...
