The 38th Dragoon Regiment was commissioned into the ranks of the Star League Defense Force on  June 15, 2602.  As the oldest unit in the Blackhawks organization,  the 38th has taken it upon themselves to serve as the "big brother" regiment to the rest of the Blackhawks.  Acting as a mentor to their younger sibling units, the 38th strives to lead by example as an honorable mercenary unit worthy of its Star League heritage.      The 38th Dragoon Regiment was assigned to the 18th Corps of the 17th Army and was posted near the Free Worlds League/ Magistracy of Canopus border.      Prior to the Periphery rebellion, the 38th was deployed to the Magistracy of Canopus to bolster the Star League presence in the Periphery. When the Periphery revolt erupted in 2765, the 38th Dragoon Regiment was assailed by well equipped Canopian units and was very nearly overwhelmed if it had not been for the timely arrival SLDF reinforcments.      The 38th Dragoons saw heavy action in the Canopian Theater as well as the Campaign to Liberate Terra.  Following those brutal campaigns, the 38th was determined to serve as an honorable example for others to follow in the conduct of warfare.  The 38th Dragoons are proud of their "nom-de-guerre" of the White Knights, and conduct themselves accordingly.
