Erika Braun was born in the Lyran half of the Federated Commonwealth. Her family has amassed an extremely large fortune and had long been well respected members of the Lyran aristocracy. Having been born to such a priviledged circumstance Erika's future seemed to be one of leisure and privilege.
From an early age Erika chafed at the confines and requirements of her aristocratic upbringing. When her father recieved a diplomatic appointment to New Avalon Erika was delighted to be heading for new horizons.
Having never been enthralled by the glitter of the high life Erika turned her focus to challenging and improving herself both mentally and physically. From a young age she excelled in martial arts training and other physical training. At age 16 she underwent preliminary evaluations for possible MechWarrior training and after receiving high marks was accepted into the exclusive Sakhara Academy for training.
Upon completing her duties with the Sakhara Training Cadre Erika was assigned to the 8th Regiment of the Deneb Light Cavalry. There she specialized and excelled in medium class Mechs and performed well in scout and raiding missions.
Seeking to challenge herself further, Erika sought a fulltime professional military career and signed on with the Blackhawks. Her skill and drive have served her fellow Iron Maidens well and her family connections have proven advantageous at times as well.
