Born into a well-to-do Argyle family, Nichole Smith was able to attend the exclusive Sakhara Academy where she graduated at the top of her class. Upon completeing her tour of duty with the Sakhara Training Cadre she joined up with the well known Deneb Light Cavalry.
A former SLDF unit that was incorporated into the ranks of the AFFC, the Deneb Light Cavalry is a unit with a long and proud history. Having fallen on hard times the 8th DLC had become a shadow of its former self. Proud of the DLC's SLDF heritage and disheartened by its currently diminished state, Nichole finished her term of service with the 8th and signed on with the Blackhawks, wanting to contribute to a distinguished unit with SLDF roots.
Her training and proven skills as both a warrior and instructor have been well recieved by the Blackhawks and in turn the Iron Maidens.
