Born to the noble ruling family of Joyz, Talia is in line to inherit the title and position of Duchess of Joyz after her mother.
A restless child, young Talia chafed under the restrictions of her upbringing as a young noble. While her peers were content to live lives of luxury and priviledge, Talia sought action and adventure. When old enough, she applied for and received a position in the elite Magistracy Royal Guards. While a member of the Royal Guards, Talia served alongside Naomi Centralla, heir to the Canopian throne. The two became fast friends and remain so to this day.
Following her service with the M.A.F. Talia sought new adventures in the Inner Sphere and made her way to Solaris where she competed in several matches with success. during on match she competed against Susan Hussey, commander of the Iron Maidens Company. Talia fought with skill but was bested by Captain Hussey. Following the match the two struck up a friendship and Talia chose to leave the arenas of Solaris for service with the Blackhawks,
