3-12-03 TWIST OUT
JUNE 2, 2003

WOW!!! I didnt realize how long it had been since I journaled. Well, LIFE has been happening so I havent been updating much. Although I have been taking pictures with my digicam. I have been wearing twist outs a lot. I got my hair cut and flat ironed which I wore for about a week. I missed my NATURAL! Recently I started the WET, STYLE n GO again (I dont shake anymore). Right now, I am into low maintenence hair so I have been thinking about another cut. Also I want a cut to disguise my longer strands. The truth is the strands always show up again anyway so what's the use?  I am really trying to come to turns with my multi textured head and LIVE with it. So I am not going to fuss with it anymore. THE DIFFUSER (see products) has become my friend these days when I dont want wet head at work. When I first diffused with Glass in Dec 2002 I did not like the results and I was discouraged. I put the diffuser back in the box and didnt pull it out until May 2003. I used it with Proclaim Curl Activator & Proclaim Natural 7 Oil. I wasnt afraid to touch/shape my hair and I wasnt trying to fight the shrinkage. I loved the results this time.  I have gotten my product rotation down. Here's the list.

Suave Naturals Conditioner - RINSE DAILY FOR WET STYLING
Kerna Moisturizing Shampoo - WEEKLY WASH
Kenra Mositurizing Conditioner - WEEKLY CONDITION/DEEP CONDITIONING
Proclaim Curl Activator - WET STYLING
Proclaim Natural 7 Oil - ADD TO PRODUCTS
Shea Butter - DRY STYLING
Fantasia IC Gel (for slicking when needed)

THESE PRODUCTS ARE ALL I NEED but I still occasional use Black N Sassy Creamy Set for twists and ponytails.  PLUS I really really want to try the Aveda Elixir and Aveda Be Curly products. I buy Salon Selectives from Big Lots for $1.99. Ill do this until they dont carry it anymore. I bought a Revlon brush for detangling. Its NOT a Denman but it looks like it will do the trick. I am gonna try it out this weekend.

STRAIGHT STYLIN' (One week in April)
PRESSED
I decided to twist my straightened hair. I used gel so it shrunk a bit. I like the style alot.
A few days into my press, I tried to set it by twisting and pinning it up. My hair was too heavy and the set didnt hold in my pressed hair.
The first pic is the last day of my press twist out.  (A lil sweat goes a long way!! LOL)  I decided to do a hot oil pre shampoo treatment with my Natural 7 Oil. I just heated the oil in the microwave then applied it to my hair and pulled it up. The third pic is after I shampooed, conditioned and rinsed. THEN I was back to normal.....the next day at work.
