Suicide, the intended taking of one's own life, is one of the leading causes of death for people between the ages of 15 and 19. The causes of teen suicide include the following:
They may have difficulty coping with who they are, where they belong, and who cares about then.
They may have pressures to be responsible and to succeed
They may experience failures in relationships
They may experience failures in school or work
They may become pregnant or have a sexually transmitted infection
They may get in trouble with the law
They may be unable to cope with feelings of failure or loss through death or divorce
