Hello,

My name is Oye. I am a lawyer who is now working not exactly like a lawyer. I had been a lawyer working for Far East Legal Counselor Office for eight years before starting my own law office. I formed a small law office in 1993 intending to have a place for myself and some other lawyers to work the way we prefer.

My law office started with one clerk, two other lawyers and me. We, the 2 lawyers and me, resigned from Far East Legal Counselor Office at the same time. Our great boss seemed to worry about our future as our main job would be doing cases for a bank. He kept warning us to think again, since we were not going to get any more salary and our experience in this field would not be versatile enough. It was difficult for us to make a decision, but we finally followed what our hearts said. "You would never know what would happen if you have never tried"; that was what my father told me when I asked him for his advice.

Time passed so quickly. We have been working for the bank eleven years up to now. Many things have been changed; from a small private law office becoming a company; from four people working and was increased to be 23 and went down to be 15 people now. What that is still the same is the 2 lawyers are still working with me. I am proud of our office even it is still a small law office, but it gives us the satisfaction on working independently.

As I have said from the beginning that I am now working not exactly like a lawyer. That might make somebody wonders what I am doing. Besides being a managing director of the company, I am also working for the office as an employee and getting salary from the company. My duty is to solve any problems in the office, no matter what it is. I am also a consultant for the lawyers. I spend all day long in the office since 9 o’clock in the morning until 5-6 o’clock in the afternoon. It depends on how much work I have to finish and how much energy I have each day. Occasionally that I go to court to fix some problems and I take that chance as my relaxation. I enjoy working like this very much. I just hope the bank will give us more jobs to do and that would keep our office survive.

Although I am working full time and only have 2 days off a week, yet I get the feeling of doing nothing much in my spare time. I want to do something to occupy myself. That is why this web site is created. I intend to gather things I like for myself to enjoy them when I have time. If it happens that somebody seeing my web site, I would sincerely hope that they would enjoy things in it as I do.
